Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique, or NAET, is an allergy testing therapy that uses applied kinesiology and acupuncture to cure disease. The healing technique is named after its founder Dr. Nambudripad, who discovered that allergies are the root cause of many health conditions and if eliminated, patients can enjoy good health.
How it Works
Because allergies often lead to the onset of many illnesses, the goal of NAET is to determine which substances a patient is allergic to in order to build natural resistance against them. In other words, to train the body to resist allergic reactions instead of avoiding substances altogether.
NAET specialists use applied kinesiology to identify substances that cause allergic reactions. This is because certain muscles become weak when one is exposed to allergens. Patients are often asked to hold a substance while the practitioner tests for muscle resistance.
If a patient is found to be allergic to a particular substance, the specialist will then insert needles into acupuncture points to unblock qi. As energy force continues to flow freely with the substance in hand, the body no longer sees it as harmful and stops reacting to it.
Common Symptoms of Allergies
Dr. Nambudripad suggests that patients should see a practitioner for allergy testing if they experience frequent headaches, blurred vision, dark circles around the eyes, runny nose, excessive mucus, persistent cough, sore throat, gagging, ringing in the ears and/or dry skin.
Allergies can also cause problems in digestion and bring about food cravings or intolerance to specific foods, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, bloating, abdominal cramps, and/or indigested food in stools.
Skin, hair and nails can become dry and brittle as a result of constant contact with allergens. Paleness, rashes, hives, dandruff and puffiness are other common symptoms. These can be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, excessive thirst, unexplained fatigue and muscle pain.
Allergies can affect the genitals, causing itching in the vagina and anus. PMS symptoms may become worse. Some may have hot flashes that are not related to menopause. Pain in the joints and frequent urination are also signs to watch out for. Psychologically, untreated allergies can cause anxiety, panic attacks, aggression, confusion or restlessness. Patients may find it difficult to concentrate or lose the “zest for life”. Slurred speech is another symptom to note.
Conditions Treated by NAET
While some allergies are minor, others can cause serious health problems. NAET treats chronic allergy-related conditions such as:
Attention Deficit Disorder
Chest and back pain
The primary methods of NAET diagnosis and treatment are applied kinesiology and acupuncture. Patients can therefore expect muscle testing, which can be performed by touch or electrical equipment.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of small, light needles into the skin. If needles make patients uneasy, they can speak to a practitioner about alternatives like acupressure and sonopuncture. Sessions normally last 15-20 minutes.
